A NOTE FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD

The current Superintendent of the Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District, John Alberghini, Ed.D. will retire from the district at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. Over the past 16 years as Superintendent, Dr. Alberghini has led us through both difficult experiences and exciting innovations. While we are extremely sad to see him go, we also must look forward and plan for our district’s future. As we begin the hiring process, we reflect on the values, leadership, vision and expertise that have led to the progress the district has seen over recent years.

Our job as school board members is to ensure that growth continues and our greatest responsibility is hiring a new superintendent who will reflect who we are as a district while confidently leading us into the future. We have partnered with Human Capital Enterprises to help guide our search. They will assist us in administering a transparent hiring process and organizing and performing a nationwide search. It is important to note that the members of the school board will be deeply involved every step of the way and will be solely responsible for selecting and hiring the final candidate.

We know that this is a crucial decision that will shape the future of our schools, students and communities for years to come. We deeply value the input and perspectives of our community members during this important endeavor. Your voices are essential in ensuring that we select a superintendent who aligns with our shared goals and priorities.
