About MMUUSD Early Education Programs
Welcome families, teachers and community based Pre-K partners to Mt. Mansfield Unified Union School District Early Childhood Program Page.
MMUUSD believes that investing in early childhood education can positively shape a child's future success. Advances in brain research provides great insight into how the brain continues to develop after birth and how a child's early experiences can impact development in areas such as social/emotional, language and motor development.
A Play-based Learning environment is the foundation of our Early Childhood Curriculum. Play provides context to make sense of a child's social world as they actively engage with people, objects and experiences. Experiences through play happen through an intentionally planned environment that nurtures all area's of development and fosters curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration, and creativity. Our Pre-K Teachers use The Vermont Early Learning Standards as a guide for what children should know and be able to do before entering Kindergarten.
MMUUSD is committed to our students, families, community, and Act 166 Private Pre K Partnerships to ensure all children have the opportunity to experience a quality early childhood education.
