Special Services

Welcome to MMUUSD Special Services!

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is the federal law that entitles a student with a disability (ages 3 through 21 years of age) to a free appropriate public education (FAPE). Special education services are designed to meet the needs of the student through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) developed through a team process.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a federal law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of a disability. This law applies to public schools and any other entity that receives federal funding. Please contact your child's building principal if you have questions related to Section 504.

Links to various resources are included on this page. Please contact the Special Services office at (802) 434-2128 if you have any questions.
